The bidding window for the Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Supplies (DMEPOS) Competitive Bidding Program opens July 16th through September 18, 2019. All bidders in Round 2021 (contract period 1/1/21-12/31/23) of the DMEPOS Competitive Bidding Program are required to obtain a $50,000 bid surety bond. The DMEPOS Competitive Bidding Program was mandated by Congress to improve the effectiveness of the Medicare methodology for setting DMEPOS payment amounts.
